Such a DRAMA

The clock shows 10.37am. Emma, Chio, Ariana and I are having our English class in Santa Monica College. My phone rings. It's Danette. I call her back 10.47am and she wants to talk to Emma. Must be urgent then she's calling my phone, was the only thing I thought.

What she told Emma was that she had to leave the house. Now. She's not allowed to stay there. So why? The reason is that there is some kind of federal law which says that you're not even allowed to be in a host family who has an infant if not qualified? So is she qualified, indirectly yes, but directly no. She doesn't have 200 hours with babies documented. Of course this is not her fault. But anyways, pretend that you're going as an au-pair to The US and when you're already there you get to know that the mum is pregnant. You were not supposed to take care of a baby, didn't expect it. Eight months later you'll become thrown out the house without notice. How would you feel? In this case this was positive. Stronger than any other pain reliefs but still, we felt like no part in the big big whole mess new about this rule.

After some phone calls from an upset hostdad and a hostmum who doesn't even want to talk about it everything was clear. We brought my suitcase, packed all Emmas stuff and now she's here - sitting next to me on her computer. We have like a little cute office and she's finally free. The handcuffs are released.
